LUXURY SHOPPING MUNICH

THE MOST EXCLUSIVE STORES & BOUTIQUES IN MUNICH

Munich, Germanys most southern metropolis, is the perfect city for sophisticated shopping tours. Exclusive boutiques with designer fashion, haute couture, luxurious jewelry and unique accessories can be reached from our luxury hotel at Marienplatz in no time. Munich is also home to many traditional local companies, some of which have been producing high-quality products for centuries.

DEPARTMENT STORES WITH RICH TRADITION

Munich’s city center is still home to a number of family-run businesses with a tradition spanning generations and a focus on the highest quality. Department stores such as Hirmer and Ludwig Beck have shaped the cityscape for more than a hundred years and personify Munich’s down-to-earth cosmopolitanism. The finest textiles have been on sale at Radspieler since 1841, and Dallmayr is synonymous with coffee excellence far beyond the city limits.

QUALITY STORES WITH ILLUSTRIOUS HISTORY

Some of the traditional companies already mentioned were once suppliers to the Bavarian royal court. There are still others of these in Munich: Eduard Meier, for example, makes perhaps the most exclusive shoes in the city, while the Hemmerle jeweler builds on genuine craftsmanship even in our modern age and forges you individual one-of-a-kind pieces. The Nymphenburger Porzellanmanufaktur offers collections of talented artists for house & home, which can be found only rarely elsewhere.

’MAXIMILIANSTRASSE’

‘Maximilianstraße’ is one of Munich’s boulevards. With neo-Gothic and Renaissance architectural elements, the style matches the luxury of the boutiques at the western end of the street. Renowned international designers greet discerning shoppers with the finest jewelry and luxury fashion – from A for Armani to Z for Zegna. In addition to the elegant fashion stores, the highest demands are also satisfied culturally. For example, the Bavarian State Opera and the GOP are located on Maximilianstrasse.

TRADITIONAL COSTUMES

The Oktoberfest is one of the most important social events of the year in Munich and people from all ranks join into the festivities. A must-have is a nice ‘Dirndl’ (traditional dress), that makes the wearer stand out from the crowd. For this you will find in the department store Lodenfrey with its famous traditional costume department on six floors. Of course, leather pants and the necessary Wiesn accessories are also offered.
